Once you find a record, it is best to verify the information by requesting a copy of the record from the county chancery court. This database does not contain all the marriages you will find in the original books at the courthouse. This database does contain marriage records you will not find at the courthouse. The courthouse records marriage licenses, then the marriage if the license is returned. If a couple obtained their marriage license in another county, but were married in Marion County, the record of their marriage will be in the county in which they obtained the license.

This database does not identify White or Colored, if you want to know that, go to the courthouse and look at the original books.
