ROBERT ERVIN FORBES SR.

Robert Ervin Forbes Sr., 62, of Tylertown, died there April 10, 2009, at Walthall County General Hospital.

Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in Tylertown. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Oral Cemetery.

Mr. Forbes was born Sept. 10, 1946, in Walthall County to John Reacie and Lillie Mae Dillon Forbes.

He was self-employed in the construction industry and attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Walthall County District 3 Volunteer Fire Department, the New Orleans Local 37 Boilermakers’ Union and had served in the Mississippi National Guard.

Mr. Forbes was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Dale Forbes; and one sister, Mary Dean Cutrer.

Survivors include his wife, Clara McGhee Forbes of Tylertown; two sons, Robert E. “Pete” Forbes Jr. and Christopher Forbes, both of Gonzales, La.; one daughter, Robbie Ellen Forbes of Baton Rouge; four brothers, John Forbes of Thomas, La., William Everett “Dick” Forbes of Angie, La., Walton W. Forbes of Tylertown and Richard Forbes of Bogalusa, La.; one sister, Jenell Dillon of Franklinton, La.; three grandchildren, Arianna Forbes, Alaica Furlow and Robert E. “Reece” Forbes III; and a special pet, Clementine.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Davis, Timmy Forbes, Tony Forbes, Greg Forbes, Greg Bush and William Graves. their application files from NARA yet, but need to do so.
