  31. Laurel Shannon Albritton Gorman Personal Interview. Family stories have him dying in the Marion County area. They also say his wife was an Indian. They say it was his second wife. The Indian woman did live in the woods with the family, because my Uncle Abbey, remembers her. He thinks she just stayed with the family after her husbands death. The graves are overgrown in the woods.

  48. Message Board. Daniel Lowe was born ca 1757-8 in Randolph Co., NC. he died in 1833 in Covington Co, MS. He is possibly buried in "Double Churches Cemetery" between Bassfield and Collins. They were married ca. 1774. His father was Lt. John Lowe (he served in the American Revolution) and his mother's name was Nancy Ann Butler.

  51. Williamson County Website. Southall, in the Forks, was named for James Southall, a soldier in the Battle of New Orleans. A post office was located there from 1881 until 1904. In 1876, Trustees J. S. Cotton, Byron Lillie, Theo Scruggs, Sam Allen, James Banks and C. D. Kirkpatrick organized and built the Berea Church of Christ. The congregation continues to worship in the original building. A public school was located above the church building until 1952. White's Chapel Methodist Church was organized in 1876. It was disbanded in 1928 and the building razed in 1974. W. A. Johnson processed paint pigment from locally mined shale from 1932 until 1947. Other familiar names of the Community include Alexander, Beard, Caldwell, Cannon, Coleman, Davis, Hafner, Haines, Hughes, Kinnard, Layne, McMillan, Nevils, Ormes, Overby, Vaughn and Yates.
